Ladykiller Unleashed, new DLC for Ladykiller in a Bind
It's crazy to think it's been so long already, but this month marks the 10th anniversary of Ladykiller in a Bind, and to celebrate, we've just released a massive new DLC expansion called Ladykiller Unleashed. It's a whole extra playthrough's worth of content, with two new romance routes with new characters, and a brand new harem route to see a whole new side of the original core trio too. Rather than trying to deliver on fanservice, I tried to ask what would be some fun new ways to put the Beast in danger, and what would be fun new ways to find beauty in her vulnerability. And then I threw in plenty of fanservice anyway for good measure, of course.
If you haven't played the original Ladykiller in a Bind, it's an erotic romantic comedy visual novel about a charming lesbian dumbass who has to pretend to be her twin brother in a high stakes game of social manipulation, balancing gathering votes to earn favour with mitigating suspicion, while falling in love during six night's worth of kinky lesbian sex. It also has an innovative (and rarely copied even now!) dialogue system where choices seamlessly appear and disappear as they're relevant to the conversation, which is probably why it won the IGF award for Excellence in Narrative in 2017. (So you can tell your friends you're really playing it for the critically acclaimed experimental narrative mechanics and not all of the sex.) Anyway, to go along with the Unleashed launch, we've updated Ladykiller in a Bind to work on modern computers, brought the end-of-game stats server back online, and put the base game on discount on both Steam and itch.io, so there's no better time than now to check it out!
On a personal note, fans of the original probably know that Ladykiller was the last game I made with my original creative partner and Love Conquers All Games co-founder Raide before he passed in 2020. Sorry to get weepy on you in the marketing email. I miss him a lot. And if he was still around, we would have spent this time making something new and refusing to ever look back—instead, this was the best way I could think of to spend a little more time with him and the characters we made together, and hopefully even introduce his work to players who'd never heard of it before. It may sound a little silly to say that this game about stupid jokes and ridiculous sexcapades is deeply personal, but I really did pour my whole heart into this one—whether it touches your heart, teaches you something new about yourself, or just makes you laugh at how charming a dumbass can be for saying the wrong thing at the right time, I hope you enjoy getting to revisit Ladykiller one more time!
Anyway, thanks as always for following my work directly—in this era of dying internet overrun by AI garbage and increasingly rotten fragmented social media platforms, knowing y'all are still out there is what keeps me going and still able to make art.
